Another date has been announced for the upcoming King Diamond tour. This time it’s the return to the legendary 013 for an exclusive club show. The date is August 6, 2013.
“The King Is Back!

The Danish heavy metal singer King Diamond is coming back to 013 for the first time in seven years for a phenomenal performance.

Kim Bendix Petersen gained fame in the 80′s with the legendary band Mercyful Fate. King Diamond immediately continued his success with leading solo records such as ‘Abigail’ and ‘Them’. He is known for his occult horror stories, sung in a unique falsetto voice, accompanied by haunting heavy metal riffs. Inspired by the stage presence of Alice Cooper, every King Diamond show is known for being an extended visual performance.

Medical complications made it impossible for King Diamond to tour for a while, but with performances at Europe’s leading metal festivals Hellfest and Sweden Rock last year, the King proved to be running at full steam again. This year the King will be performing at all major European festivals, but also made a spot in his schedule for an exclusive club show in 013!

The Burning Sea Festival in Cratia has benn cancelled. Here is the info from the Burnin Sea website:

“BURNING SEA forced to be canceled

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have been forced to cancel the BURNING SEA festival for 2013, although ticket sales were much better than METALFEST tickets last year!

The Croatian government decides to charge an extra VAT of 25 % to the regular ticket prices also for cultural associations. Originally and until now, all of our calculations (e.g. Metalfest 2012) were made with 0 % VAT due to cultural tax exceptions  as stated on tickets as well. Only a couple of days ago we were informed by the tax office about the changes in VAT law.

We are not able to buffer a 25 % backup, so in the end there is no way for us to make the BURNING SEA festival into a business that is profitable – Even if it would be SOLD OUT!

We were not able to find an investor in such a small period of time. We are a private owned and runned company, so without any big industry behind us, there is no way for us to make this festival running without knowing how much money we would loose.

With this cancelation we are joining HGU (Croatian union of musicians) in their protests against this tax law, and hope that in 2014 Croatia will not be European state with highest Taxes when it comes to festival/concerts tickets prices. For your better understanding, Germany has 7%, Slovenia 8,5%, and Austria 9% taxes on income made on festival/concert tickets.

We will try to revitalize BURNING SEA in 2014, based on a new calculation and unfortunately with a ticket price including the VAT.

All ticket money will be refunded at the shops where they were bought originally! PLEASE CONTACT THE SHOPS WHERE YOU BOUGHT YOUR TICKET. If you bought Fan pack, you can keep your T-shirt.

Some of the bands will be added onto the billing of METALDAYS festival in Slovenia, and for other bands we will try to organize back-up shows.

The organizers of OST Fest in Romania have posted the following on their website:

“OST FEST 2013 is cancelled!    

After a great deal of hard work, research and sent emails, Project Events  – organizers of OST FEST- decided with regret that this year’s edition of OST FEST will be cancelled.

     „We would have wanted that OST FEST 2013 to surpass the last one. In 2012 we raised the bar quite high actually. We had for the people bands like Motorhead, Europe, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Manowar and Dimmu Borgir. Those great names made OST FEST one of the biggest festivals Romania has  ever had. For the 2013 edition we started working before the 2012 edition ended. We’ve sent hundreds of emails and offers but unfortunately we didn’t come to an agreement with  other big names besides King Diamond. The  other  big bands we would have wanted on our stage had other arrangements or they were outside Europe at that time. Giving the fact that we would not want to be under the people’s expectations we preferred to cancel this year’s show and get to work for the next year’s event instead.” – Sorin Sararu,  managing partner at Project Events.

Project Events is sorry for the inconvenience and would want to note that all of you who purchased tickets or subscriptions to OST FEST 2013 will be able to get their money back  starting with the 7th of February from the locations they purchased them.”

“This is the only explanation we ourselves have gotten so far. I have made up my own mind about this, and am too angry with the organizers to speak further about it.

I feel genuinely sorry for all those who have looked forward to this.

King Diamond has announced another date for the upcoming tour. KD will play the Aegon Arena NTC in Bratislava, Slovakia on May 31st, 2013.

King Diamond will headline Metalfest in Pilsen, Czech Republic  on June 2nd, 2013. They will bring thier complete stage show and it’s the only show in the Czech Republic in 2013!

Another King Diamond date has been announced. Graspop Metal Meeting 2013. On June, 30, in Dessel, Belgium, King Diamond will join bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon and Kreator on next years Graspop Metal Meeting.
